I can't help but be grateful for the dawn:
the soft pinks and delicate blue
turned vibrant with this wondrous light
till all is awash with gold,
the glowing promise of today.
You too can be magnificent it says;
you too can shine and shine,
alight yourself and the world with your immortal flame
though this body will one day return
to the dust of space and time.
And if you truly knew that in any moment
the you in which you put such faith
could fall and burn like a tiny meteor, nothing left,
would you not choose to be a shooting star,
to blaze your finest across the sky for all to see
till you were done?
Choose then! To be alive is to risk,
so why not risk for what your heart most longs?
Why not squeeze the juice from every second,
why not be who you truly are
and live, damn it, live!
